Privacy Policy

Who this is for

doodli is created for parents and guardians to set up and use on behalf of their child. Account creation (email and password) is done by an adult. Children do not create their own accounts or provide information directly to doodli — any names or details entered (like a child's first name or a pet's name) are entered by the parent/guardian operating the app.

What we collect

• Account info: email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store your raw password).
• Story details: first names, a pet's name, optional short "story ingredients" text, preferred narration language and voice.
• Generated content: the stories, audio narration, and drawing prompts doodli creates for you, along with a short "memorable detail" from each story so future stories can reference past ones.
• Purchase history: which Doodle packages you've bought and when. Payment card details are handled entirely by Apple, Google, or Stripe — doodli never sees or stores them.
• Basic usage data: things like when a story was generated or played, used for abuse prevention and to keep the wallet/credit system accurate.

How we use it

Story details you provide (names, pet, ingredients, language) are sent to third-party AI providers to generate your story:

• Google Gemini — generates the story text from your prompt.
• Google Cloud Text-to-Speech — converts story text into narrated audio.
• Ideogram — generates a background illustration matching each story.

These providers process the text/audio to fulfill your request; see their own privacy policies for how they handle data sent to their APIs. We don't send your email address to these providers — only the story details needed to write and narrate the story.

Payments

Purchases of Doodles are processed by Apple's App Store, Google Play Billing, or Stripe, depending on platform. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the package purchased — never your card number or billing details.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the service providers named above, strictly to provide the app's functionality (hosting/database via Supabase, story/voice generation, and payment processing).

Data retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account, including all stories, child/pet names, and remaining Doodle balance, at any time from inside the app (account menu → Delete account), or by emailing support@doodli.io. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children's privacy

doodli is not directed at children as independent users and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All account setup and story personalization is done by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has created an independent account or provided information without parental involvement, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at support@doodli.io to exercise these rights.

We'll update this page if how we handle data changes, and update the date at the top.
